Job Title: VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDENT SERVICES
Reports to: President
FLSA Status: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Student Services administers and evaluates institution-wide goals and policies, and provides executive leadership and management responsibilities with an emphasis on student success services including recruitment, orientation, admission, financial aid, career planning, advising, registration, enrollment services, records, athletics and student activities. Works collaboratively with the President, the faculty and staff in the accomplishment of goals and responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports directly to the President providing leadership in strategic and operational planning, and policy development related to College Mission and Goals.
Lead and administer the Office of the Vice President of Student Services according to legal guidelines, contractual obligations, student s rights and responsibilities and College policies and procedures.
Lead the organization and structure of the Student Services Department.
Commitment to a world class service organization.
Determine, plan, implement and administer unit-wide initiatives promoting student success and retention.
Determine, formulate and administer management policies and practices (in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer) for the advancement of the use of technology to deliver effective and efficient student services.
Lead enrollment and registration with a focus on student satisfaction, customer service, faculty and staff communication and collaboration, effectiveness, and efficiency maximizing services within budget parameters.
Lead all student services staff and processes maintaining a focus on College goals, best practices, student success and satisfaction, effectiveness and efficiency.
Perform annual evaluation and follow-up on all student service areas including but not limited to recruitment, admission, enrollment services, financial aid, advising, employment services, athletics and student activities to assess the progress of each area.
Lead College-wide initiatives focusing on multi-cultural education and services as well as international and intercultural goals and initiatives based on, but not limited to College goals, best practices, student success and satisfaction, community profile and needs.
Oversee budget, purchasing processes and related financial matters.
Formulate goals for and participate in collective bargaining as requested.
Plan for human resource needs and organizational development.
Assist in the hiring, evaluation, discipline and development of support staff.
Oversight of planning and development for ongoing remodeling and new construction activities related to the Student Services area.
Assist with the grant application process in cooperation with other Units of the College.
Participate in local, state, regional, and national professional associations, conferences, and committees as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned by the President and as changing conditions require and new opportunities arise.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the President.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: Direct and general supervision of assigned staff.

EDUCATION: Master s degree or higher in a related field.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five (5) years full-time experience in administration at the collegiate level, including a satisfactory record of progressive and significant leadership experiences at the community college or college level. Demonstrated leadership ability and/or knowledge of leadership and management of all Student Services functions, full- and part-time staffing, budgeting, scheduling, student success and retention, assessment, multicultural programming, transfer and articulation. Teaching experience at the collegiate level also preferred. Must have an understanding of the philosophy and cultures of the comprehensive community college, including information technology trends, team administration, and the ability to think globally and systematically.
