JOB POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, BIOLOGY

FULL TIME

DEPARTMENT: Biology

JOB DUTIES: Maintain scholarship track status meeting expected outcomes as described in Departmental Definition of Scholarship. Teach 9 load hours per semester in course areas determined by department chair (12 credits less a 3 credit course load reduction). Direct undergraduate research project. Advise biology majors as assigned. Attend Department, School and University faculty meetings.

REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. in one of the biological sciences. Two years of post-doctoral research or teaching experience. Research experience in terrestrial, estuarine or marine ecology (one or more publications showing expertise).

Prior experience teaching or working in botany, ecology or closely related area of biology. Ability to organize and run field and/or laboratory exercises in botany, introductory biology and terrestrial or estuarine ecology. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
