JOB SUMMARY: This position has the responsibility of providing high-quality classroom instruction and leadership to the students of the Business and Human Resource Management (HRM) Department. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in the Business Administration and HRM areas. The successful candidate should have a strong background in current business practices. This individual employs instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives, assessing accomplishments of students on a regular basis, and providing progress reports as requested and required. Major responsibilities include supervising and advising students, and formulating and maintaining curriculum for assigned courses. This individual will maintain cooperative relationships with the Dean, other faculty, all divisions of the College, prospective employers, and the community. A full-time teaching load of 15 credit hours per term is typical.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master s Degree in Business Administration or related field is required. Three years of relevant work experience is required, including at least one year of teaching experience with preference given to those with teaching experience at the post secondary level. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest and ability in incorporating instructional technologies in the classroom, developing and revising curriculum, and experience working with diverse populations.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Nine-month contractual position August 2010. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant s education and experience and will include a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; personal and sick leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA-CREF (defined contribution).
