Assistant Dean

The Office of the Dean of the College at Washington and Lee University seeks an Assistant Dean, with primary responsibilities for facilities, budgets, oversight of non-faculty personnel, student disability accommodations and other duties. The Assistant Dean is a continuing, non-faculty, administrative position. The Assistant Dean will work directly with the Dean of the College, a faculty Associate Dean, and two administrative assistants. A key responsibility of the new dean will be to help manage a $50 million multi-year renovation project of the College s main academic buildings.

Washington and Lee is a private, liberal arts university with 1,800 undergraduates, located in the Shenandoah Valley, in Lexington, Virginia. W&L is the ninth oldest institution of higher learning in the nation and ranks in the top 25 liberal arts colleges and universities, measured by endowment per student. The College is the largest of three academic units; others are the School of Law and the Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics. An advanced degree is preferred, and the ideal candidate will have had some administrative and project management experience in a higher education setting.
