Assistant Director, Admission & Financial Aid

The Assistant Director of Admission and Financial aid manages the daily activity of the Financial Aid Office, including all aspects of the financial aid awarding process for all programs offered by the Law School. Handles compliance with federal regulations ensures that program meets all requirements, including completion of the Quality Assurance process. Manages one full-time staff person and assists with processing when needed. Works closely with the Finance Office on main campus to handle billing issues and student account debit/credit transactions. Reviews reports to ensure accuracy and works closely with the Finance Office personnel to resolve issues. Participates in reading application files and makes recommendations for admission and scholarship decisions. Helps to plan, prepare and execute admission/recruitment events and delivers presentations regarding financial aid, debt management, and loan repayment.

Responsibilities:
1) Counsels students and applicants on the financial aid process
2)Assesses students financial need and eligibility criteria to determine financial aid award
3)Reviews and evaluates admission application files 4) Manages all functions of the annual Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) application and awarding process
5) Participates in the management of the scholarship budget
6) Delivers exit interview presentations to graduating students regarding loan repayment

Qualifications:
1) Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one to two years financial aid experience, preferably at the law school or graduate school level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2) To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and have prior experience in Excel, Access, and Datatel.
3) Must be able to work closely and professionally with others as part of a team; be flexible; pay attention to detail; work without supervision and demonstrate considerable initiative.
4) Must communicate professionally through both verbal and written means and work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
5) Manages multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
6) Establishes departmental goals and priorities and contributes to Capital University s philosophy, strategic plan, goals and doctrine.
