Description:
American Universitys Office of Information Technology Enterprise Systems is seeking a qualified Sharepoint Developer to assist in leading the application development of the new American University Active Campus SharePoint portal.

The position will work on most phases of applications development, systems analysis, and programming activities. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in planning, architecting, developing, and implementing the portal.

Experience with high capacity web systems and/or high volume transactions are very beneficial in this key role. The Sharepoint Developer will help guide and support the universitys rapidly growing online portal presence by offering strategies and support for a world-class portal infrastructure. A hands on approach, including coding of applications and web parts, is a fundamental facet of this position.

This position will be involved with many areas of development and programming; therefore, the successful candidate will need to exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize between focusing on existing versus new applications and between features, architectural improvements, and operational excellence.

A self-starter who insists on creating innovative solutions and has the ability to practically apply best-practice web technologies to meet business objectives will succeed in this role. Experience with enterprise-level SharePoint portal deployments, especially coupled with Datatel Active Campus, is a strong advantage.
