Assistant Director, Student Services

Position Summary:

Working with minimal supervision, and in conjunction with the Director of the Charlotte MBA Programs, provides social, academic and support services to prospective and current students on the Charlotte campus of Wake Forest University s Schools of Business.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree required plus three to five years experience in admissions, student affairs or higher education preferred. Masters degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability

* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

* Commitment to customer service and the ability to maintain confidentiality essential.

* Comfortable in a highly automated environment and working out of multiple databases; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, and admissions software.

* Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

* Ability to travel domestically as needed.

* Ability to take direction, work independently, and work with others as part of a team.

* Ability to work in the evenings and on weekends as needed.

* Valid driver license with good driving record; must be insurable.


Physical Requirements:

Medium work. Stooping; standing; walking; lifting; talking; hearing. Repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Essential Functions:
* Serves as the first point of contact for students concerns, including facilitating team issues, and grade issues.

* Manages events for prospective, admitted and current students across the Charlotte MBA Programs, including GMAT Prep Workshops, Orientation, Mentor/Mentee Breakfasts, Information Sessions, Students Socials, and Breakfast/Dinner with the Dean.

* Manages the logistics and details for the daily operation of the Evening and Saturday MBA Programs including weekly catering, faculty hotel reservations, class visits and admissions consultations.

* Liaisons with the Professional Student Association as well as the Partners Program, utilizing the membership for class visit hosts, and event participation.

* Works closely and in collaboration with the members of the Graduate Student Affairs team to update the admitted student website, and design and carry out Orientation events.

* Responsible for distributing student surveys, compiling results and reporting them to the appropriate members of the leadership team.

* Participates in on and off campus Charlotte sponsored events, typically held on weekends and in the evening.

* Performs other duties as assigned.
