Assistant/Associate Professor Political Science

The Political Science and International Studies Department at Baldwin-Wallace College invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning in the Academic Year 2010-2011. We seek an individual with expertise in American politics and public law, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Constitutional, criminal, civil liberties, and international law. A policy area of specialization, particularly in healthcare or the environment, is also preferred. The position involves teaching undergraduate courses in law (Constitutional law, civil liberties, criminal law, international law, special topics); environmental or health policy, or related areas; introductory American government; and participation in campus-wide interdisciplinary course teaching. The position will advise a new Legal Studies minor and pre-law students, and will advise and mentor two of the three following student activities: Model U.N., the Law Club, and a new Mock Trial team. Preference will be given to candidates with a commitment to student learning, collaborative program building, and a willingness to support the College’s general education program. A demonstrated track-record of working with students, colleagues, and community members that offer and bring multicultural and intercultural perspectives related to the political science community is preferred. The position requires a Ph.D. in hand or near completion; teaching experience is preferred.
