Director of the School of Education and Faculty Member

The School of Education invites nominations or applications for the position of Director of the School of Education. The School of Education is fully approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to offer undergraduate, graduate and certification programs and is in the early phase of the development of an application for NCATE accreditation. The Director will lead the accreditation process; administer the day-to-day operations of the school; promote strategies for enrollment growth; and will instruct in areas of expertise for either Special Education or Reading/Literacy. The Director will hold a tenure track position and will be expected to engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship as is appropriate to the application and receipt of tenure and promotion at Gannon.
Candidates must have a terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) and prior experience in higher education. Candidates must provide evidence of: productive scholarship; effective leadership and communication skills; excellent computer skills and use of course management systems; and familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom. Ideally, candidates will have experience in teaching/administration in a K-12 school setting and in the development and delivery of alternative teaching strategies (online and hybrid courses). Experience with NCATE is strongly preferred. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
