Oakton is seeking a Temporary Special Needs at the Des Plaines, IL campus to:
Assess students needs and determine appropriate services and materials.
Provide individual and group academic advisement.
Develop and teach program orientation and appropriate learning modules.
Monitor students' academic progress and provide necessary academic assistance.
Assist students with vocational career and transfer planning.
Develop and give presentations about services.
Participate in career fairs and college nights for students with disabilities.
Serve as external liaison with high schools, four-year colleges, area businesses and other agencies.
Coordinate accommodations and adaptive equipment.
Qualified candidates must possess a Master s degree in Special Education, Counseling, or a related field; two years of experience with high school or college age special education students in academic and vocational settings; job placement experience; and experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and current adaptive technology.
This is a part time position that works Monday Thursday, during daytime hours approximately 20 hours per week.
This position is compensated at a rate of $22.67 per hour.
