Job Description: The Department of Biology at East Carolina University (http://www.biology.ecu.edu), the third largest campus in the North Carolina University system, seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track, teaching-intensive position beginning August 16, 2010 for one year with the possibility of renewal. We are looking for an individual to teach majors and/or non-majors biology courses, primarily at the introductory level, and to contribute to ongoing efforts in revising the undergraduate curriculum. Appropriate service to the university, community and profession is expected. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated interests and skills in innovative teaching techniques and authoring educational grant proposals. Review of applications will begin 1/31/2010, and continue until the position is filled. Graduate transcript required upon employment.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences, or Ed.D. in Science Education, and teaching experience are required. All degrees should be from appropriately accredited institutions.
