Job Description: East Carolina University School of Theatre and Dance seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative faculty member for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Theatre History and Dramatic Literature to begin August 24, 2015. Responsibilities will include teaching a three-course progression in Theatre History and Dramatic Literature (with a Writing Intensive component) as well as Introduction to Theatre for non-majors. Position may also include teaching additional courses within the candidate's area of expertise, distance education courses, as well as serving as dramaturge on main stage productions. The ECU School of Theatre and Dance is a dedicated undergraduate BFA Program with an emphasis on professional preparation.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD or equivalent in Theatre History or related field required (ABD-at the rank of Instructor considered).
Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
