Job Description: The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology in the Department of Pediatrics seeks a pediatric nurse practitioner or a pediatrics-trained physician assistant to assist with providing inpatient and outpatient care. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate needed information to physicians, nurses, or other allied health professionals by means of physical examinations, review of laboratory data, review of patient health records, and review of radiological data. The selected candidate will assist in the management of patients with gastrointestinal diseases. The primary reporting responsibilities will be to the chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. Regular work hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday; one to two weekends per month may be included. CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION - NOT SUBJECT TO STATE PERSONNEL ACT.


Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a physician assistant program approved by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and "approved to practice medical acts" based on education and experience by the Board of Medical Examiners; or graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the North Carolina Joint Subcommittee and licensed by the NC Board of Nursing.
